A decade in Cabris, a small village above Grasse in Provence's Alpes-Maritimes, changed the way we see a home. We learned to notice what makes a place feel right: its setting, its light, its proportions, the small details that quietly make a room feel like somewhere you want to be.

Living beside the perfume capital of France, where fragrances like Chanel No. 5 were born, taught us something else. A home, like a fine fragrance, isn't really about any one ingredient. It's about how everything comes together. The structure matters, sure. But so does everything you feel the second you walk through the door.

Years later, we bought our first home in Marblehead, and stumbled on a coincidence that still makes us smile: Grasse and Marblehead are sister cities.

​

Today, we bring that same eye to coastal New England: the weathered shingle, the granite coastline, that particular grey-gold light off the harbor in late afternoon.
